NIST's automated protocol for testing cryptographic implementations against canonical test vectors. Run as part of the CAVP (Cryptographic Algorithm Validation Program). ACVP automates exchange of cryptographic test vectors and results for algorithm validation workflows. Passing an ACVP-shaped local harness can improve engineering confidence, but only official NIST programme processing and certificates support formal CAVP validation claims.
